Mr. Noll - 7th and 8th Grade Math
Welcome 7th and 8th Graders!
A little bit about me: This is my 14th year teaching and 13th year teaching math at Faircrest Middle School. I graduated from Canton South High School in 1997 and then graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2001. I completed my Masters in Administration from Ashland University in 2003. I am also the Head Golf Coach for our high school golf team.

7th Grade Math
Unit 1 - Integers and Rational Numbers - Standards 7.NS.1, 7.NS.2, 7.NS.3
Learning Targets Include:
Learning Targets Include:
- Add and subtract rational numbers
- Represent addition and subtraction on a number line.
- Understand p+q as the number located a distance |q| from p, in the positive or negative direction depending on whether q is positive or negative.
- Show that a number and its opposite have a sum of 0.
- Interpret sums of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
- Understand subtraction of rational numbers as adding the additive inverse, p–q = p + (-q).
- Show that the distance between two rational numbers on the number line is the absolute value of their difference.
- Add and subtract rational numbers using properties of operations.
- Multiply and divide rational numbers.
- Understand integers can be divided, provided that the divisor is not zero, and every quotient of two integers is rational.
- Multiply and divide rational numbers using properties of operations.
- Convert rational numbers to decimals.
- Identify whether or not numbers written in decimal format are rational or irrational.
- Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving the four operations with rational numbers.
